Mission: The Philadelphia Children's Alliance (PCA) is an independent non-profit organization that promotes healing and justice for sexually abused children in Philadelphia. Using a multidisciplinary approach, we collaborate with our partners in child protection, law enforcement, and medical and mental health services to provide forensic interviews, victim support and counseling services at the Philadelphia Safety Collaborative, a co-located child-friendly facility. We are committed to using best practices and we promote this model locally and nationally.


Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Prevention Services, this position is responsible for providing outreach and coordination with Philadelphia schools to provide prevention education for students regarding child sexual abuse prevention. The Prevention Education Liaison helps schedule and coordinate “Safe Touches” and “Smarter Parents” Programs for Philadelphia school students and their caregivers.

  • Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends, flexible. Responsibilities:
  • Greet all trainees in a warm and welcoming manner, ensuring their comfort (as much as possible)
  • Review housekeeping ofspace with trainees.
  • Schedule and coordinate “Safe Touches” and “Smarter Parents” Programs with Philadelphia Schools.
  • Track trainings including number provided and attendees.
  • Participate in research related to implementation (i.e., surveys and/or group-based interviews about training and implementation over the course of the project).
  • Attend monthly learning collaborative meetings hosted by CMSN/NYU.
  • Assist CMSN/NYU in exploring other mechanisms of monitoring implementation fidelity of the two programs which may take the form of site visit interviews, direct observations, or surveys.
  • Provide CMSN/NYU with a schedule of offered workshops.
  • Submit an implementation form for every workshop offered. November 2024
  • Conduct a post workshop evaluation with students in 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms utilizing a modified version of the validated Children’s Knowledge of Abuse Questionnaire (CKAQ).
  • Engage with CMSN/NYU about research opportunities within kindergarten and first grade classrooms.
  • Provide parents with the opportunity to complete a pre-workshop evaluation (at the time of registration) and a post-workshop evaluation (approx. 24h after the workshop).
  • Register participants, distribute evaluations and certificates.
  • Purchase, set up and clear all refreshments for training.
  • Order supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Provide on-site support on day of trainings.
  • Assistance with mailings as needed.
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by the Manager of the project.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

Familiarity with the dynamics of sexual abuse and child abuse reporting requirements in Pennsylvania.

Experience providing education or training.

Special Skills:

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone communications.

Friendly and pleasant personality.

PC literacy including basic knowledge of Word for Windows, spreadsheet applications and database functions.
