PREVENT: Building Alliances
Against Child Sexual Abuse
The Philadelphia Children’s Alliance Prevention Program is designed to create shared community responsibility and provide information about child sexual abuse and prevention strategies to caregivers and other adults who engage with children and youth daily.
We have an innovative framework grounded in best practice to guide our efforts, with a strong emphasis on building community trust and investment.
The Philadelphia Children’s Alliance is the catalyst for bringing our community partners together to support the needs of our families, in addition to the enhancing community awareness by building out our capacity to provide adult-focused training.
Our goal is to educate adult service providers, caregivers, and community members on how to recognize and respond to child sexual abuse.
THEORY OF CHANGE
We believe that:
ENHANCING community awareness through child sexual abuse prevention education and training and
MOBILIZING concrete resources that support healthy equity and parental resilience will result in the improved health and safety of children including reduced incidence and recurrence of child sexual abuse,
INCREASING OPPORTUNITIES for professionals and para-professionals to obtain continuous education around.
We offer the
Darkness to Light "Stewards of Children" Training, which guides our work in preventing child sexual abuse, enabling changes at individual, community, and societal levels.
